In what can be said to be a clever move by the Bharatiya Janata Party, name of Mulayam Singh is doing rounds for the post of Governor of Bihar.
BJP would be welcoming this move keeping in mind the fact that their party will benefit with this decision in the longer run for the game focussing on the Lok Sabha elections 2019.
With Akhilesh Yadav becoming the party President of the Samajwadis, Mulayam was sidelined since then and this move by BJP can be a twirl twister for the Yadav supporters in Bihar as well as in Uttar Pradesh.
Here’s what the calculation says:
With Mulayam becoming the Governor of Bihar, there will be the polarisation of the OBC vote bank in Uttar Pradesh which will be a harming factor for the ex CM Akhilesh Yadav.
On the other hand, Bihar will see a vote shift for the Yadav’s that are at present more or less happy with the Lalu version of the story.
At the backdrop:
Earlier, in the recently concluded presidential elections, it was Mulayam who backed the NDA candidate Ram Nath Kovind along with his brother Shivpal Singh Yadav while Akhilesh Yadav was the one backing the opposition candidate Meira Kumar.
