India is ready to take on Bangladesh in the much awaited semifinal at Birmingham. Speculations are already high towards the most exciting clash that is expected to take place between India and Pakistan in the finals of ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
But before that Men in blue will have to face the unpredictable Bangladeshis in the semis. The two teams have played some good cricket to reach up to the finals while on the other side luck has favoured the Bangladeshis as their clash outs with big guns was washed out in rain and they were on the receiving end after sharing match points with Aussies.
India on the other hand had a bittersweet tournament with little bit of ups and downs. They successfully defeated their arch rivals Pakistan and South Africa but faced a defeat against Sri Lanka. This defeat of India brought the strong bowling line-up under scanner.
The duo of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan had given healthy start to the Indian Team till now which is also one of the factors for their winning streak. However the departure of Rohit Sharma early in the innings during India – South Africa match has raised some difficult questions as the early fall of wickets puts the entire pressure on the Indian Skipper.
Throughout this tournament, India have employed the cautious-start tactic with the openers absorbing the pressure at the top of the innings. However, the way Rohit Sharma got out against South Africa is bound to raise a few questions. Overall the batting performance mainly depends on how Indian opening partnership will pace their innings and give a fine start early on.
