ABVP today managed to make a make a mark in the Delhi University Student Union elections by winning the three out of four seats. However, NSUI managed to clinch one seat.
Thousands of students voted to elect the new office-bearers of the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU). A total of 17 candidates were in fight for the four DUSU posts, including president, vice-president, secretary and joint secretary.
There are a total of 1,23,421 voters in Delhi University. Voting for DUSU, as happens every year, was scheduled in two phases at 50 polling centres in 42 colleges and eight departments of the varsity.
Backed by various political parties, student leaders made all their efforts to woo the students and persuade them to vote for their respective candidates. Result has clearly been in favour of ABVP, However, NSUI somehow managed to grab a single seat and said that even though they have just one seat with then they will still continue to fight for the rights of the students and will come back with better results next year.
