In reply to England’s 477 in the first innings, Indian openers have got off to a fine start and have managed to score 152 runs for the loss of one wicket.
Lokesh Rahul is still at the crease batting at 79 not out while Parthiv Patel got out after making impressive 71 runs and piling 150 runs partnership with Lokesh.
It will be interesting to see if Virat Kohli opts out for the aggressive mode of play to counter England’s 477 in the first innings. India have a long batting lineup and have all the time to get past the England score with pitch still pretty good to bat on.
India will be looking to make big score and then try to give England sufficient time to bat so that Indian spinner have good chance to dismiss them in the second innings of the match.
