New Delhi: India’s top most squash player Joshna Chinappa has reached her career highest ranking on 10th position in the latest Professional Squash Association (PSA) rankings released today.
Joshna became the second Indian after Dipika Pallika who breaks into the top-10 barrier after a long time.
This 29-years-old squash player who is physically fit from past six months, moved one place ahead to be on 10th in the rankings.
On other hand, Pallikal who broke the top-10th barrier in December 2012 is currently ranked at 19th position.
Joshna had reached her career’s biggest ever finals at the HKFC International in Hong Kong during the month of May.
This young and energetic player from India is now getting ready to defend her title in the National Championship which is going to organised in Mumbai from July 12th.
She was ranked at 18th position last month, and has been dropped a place in the ranking. Pallikal was a quarter-finalist at the HKFC International.
After Joshna, the only Indian in the top 20 chart is Saurav Ghosal who remained on 17th position.
Ghosal who has been out of action for a while nursing an ankle injury and is expected to return to active squash at the Nationals in Mumbai.
