New Delhi: Subsequent to the Delhi’s Lt Governor Najeeb Jung’s resignation yesterday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today went for a breakfast with Jung at his residence.
Kejriwal had been involved in a continuous battle with Jung in the last couple of years. However, Kejriwal showed his “surprise” at the unexpected decision that Jung took yesterday.
Delhi Chief Minister talking on the reason as to why Najeeb took such decision stated: “He told me that he is resigning due to his personal reasons.”
Jung was appointed as the Lt Governor of Delhi on July 9, 2013 during the Congress-led UPA regime. However, Narendra Modi government retained him despite of that fact that their party replaced maximum number of governors in various states.
Jung following his resignation showed his interest of returning back to his “first love” academics in future.
