Lucknow: The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC ) has conducted its first successful trail run of Metro train from Alambagh till Transport nagar today.
After the arrival of first set of Lucknow Metro train, this is the first trail run done by the LMRC, the first set of train is manufactured by Alstom Company from Chennai, and the coaches were off loaded at the Transport Nagar depot of LMRC in Alambagh recently.
The formal inauguration of this official trail run will be done by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on December 1st as this is one of the dream projects of the CM in the state.
Before the formal inauguration, this trail run was conducted between Alambagh and Transport nagar which is of 5.5 kilometers. The train has covered this section in the time period of 18 minutes only.
Earlier, the LMRC Managing Director, Kumar Keshav visited the Transport Nagar metro station along with the Transport Nagar metro depot to review the operational preparedness with regard to the commissioning of metro train trial run from December 1, 2016.
At Transport Nagar metro station, Keshav inspected the Metro stations along with platform, tracks, finishing of the platforms, and electrical and mechanical (E&M) works being carried at the station.
He also visited the Transport Nagar Metro depot where he inspected the operational preparedness related with flagging-off the trail run. However, he oversaw the track where the metro train would be placed at the time of flagging-off ceremony during the trail run and gave his feedback on improvements to be done.
Lucknow metro has already received the first set of 4 metro coaches to ply on the priority corridor of about 8.5 km from Transport Nagar to Charbagh from March 26, 2017 onwards.
LMRC officials said total 6 trains would commute on this track daily from March 2017 at a gap of 2.5 minutes each. The priority section would have total eight metro stations.
While coaches have already reached the depot at Transport Nagar few days back, Lucknow metro team is currently testing the trial track, technical aspects and coaches’ adaptability to various tests.
Officials said that coaches are tested in many ways before launching them on trial tracks. It includes static testing (when coaches are standing on track), dynamic testing (when in motion) and oscillation trials.
After this the coaches are launched on test tracks. LMRC has made over 600 metre trial track inside depot where trials would begin December 1, 2016.
After about a month, the coaches will be brought on to the real time corridor on Kanpur Road to move to and from one station to another. Public would get to board this metro from March, 2017 end.
Lucknow Metro is determining to start the trial runs of the Metro train for the 8.5 km long priority corridor from Transport Nagar to Charbagh on 1st December, 2016 as per the stipulated deadline given by the Government.
