Social networking site Facebook has finally launched its Messenger Lite in India for the customers using low range internet i.e 2G services.

Messenger Lite offers same set of functions as the original messenger.
People can send and receive text, pictures, emojis and stickers.
This app comes with support for voice calls.
The newly launched app is less than 10 MB.
This app is aimed at the devices with low end hardware and places with slow internet speed.
The company official in a statement said, “Messenger Lite is a solution for people who don’t have the latest smartphone, but still want to stay connected to their friends and family.”
Prior to its launch in India, this low size app was launched in countries like Kenya, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Tunisia and Venezuela. Facebook way back in April had announced that Messenger has to reach the target of 1.2 bn monthly active users. Till July the company already reached the mark of 1 billion MAUs.
