Mumbai: Right-arm fast-medium Indian bowler Mohammad Shami was next in line to face criticism over posting a photo on Facebook with his wife in a sleeveless dress which led to offensive comments; most of them even claimed that Shami should ensure that his wife Hasin Jahan should not be seen without wearing a hijab and that the dress was not justifying her religion.
Shami is presently undergoing treatment for the pain in his right knee after missing the last two Tests against England. Shami was left to pushing away insulting statements for posting a picture with his wife where she was seen wearing a sleeveless gown.
Former Indian batsman, Mohammad Kaif was among all those who slammed all those posting disgusting comments and defended Shami. He wrote, “The comments are really really Shameful. Support Mohammed Shami fully. There are much bigger issues in this country. Hope sense prevails.”
Talking about the same, Tennis player Sania Mirza had also faced criticism over her religion as she is married to Shoaib Malik and earlier a cleric issued an edict against Sania ordering to stop wearing exposing clothes and instead be covered from head to toe while playing Tennis.
