Former Congress national spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi today joined Shiv Sena in presence of party president Uddhav Thackeray.
“I am thankful to Uddhavji for giving me respect and welcoming me into the party,” Priyanka Chaturvedi said after joining Shiv Sena.
Priyanka was miffed at the reinstatement of some party workers who had misbehaved with her, resigned from Congress a day before. After quitting all posts in the party, Chaturvedi sent her resignation to the party’s top brass.
On Wednesday, Chaturvedi said it is unfortunate and saddening that those who threatened her have got away without even “a rap on their knuckles”.
“Deeply saddened that lumpen goons get preference in Congress over those who have given their sweat and blood.
“Having faced brickbats and abuse across board for the party but yet those who threatened me within the party getting away with not even a rap on their knuckles is unfortunate,” she had said in a tweet.
I am absolutely overwhelmed and grateful with the love and support I have got across board from the nation in the past 3 days.
I consider myself blessed with this immense outpouring of support. Thank you to all who have been a part of this journey. pic.twitter.com/WhUYYlwHLj
