Mumbai: After getting several ups and downs in ‘Padmavati’ row, Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray today talked to the Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali about his upcoming film.
Top Rajput community leaders had called on the Sena chief yesterday and sought his intervention in the matter.
Sena MP Sanjay Raut went on to say: “We have made it clear that an amicable solution must be reached which does not harm the interests of the community. If Rajputs have objections to any scenes, then Bhansali must do the needful.”
He further mentioned that Rajput queen Padmavati was a foundation of pride for not only the people of Rajasthan but the Hindus all over the country, who have a high regard for her bravery and exceptional place in the Indian history.
Raut also added that the Rajput community leaders apprised Thackeray of the ongoing nationwide controversy on “Padmavati” and sought after his interference to make certain that nothing offensive to the community was sanctioned to be publicized through the film.
The meeting came in the middle of a intense issue over the content of the film. Certain scenes and sequences comprising a dance number by Queen Padmavati in addition to some other aspects of the movie have infuriated the Rajput community who term it as “erroneous” and “insulting” representation.
