As per the sources, SP and RLD driven by their own political compulsions are all set to join hands in Delhi. With RLD President Chaudhary Ajit Singh seeking his place in Rajya Sabha from SP there has been a meeting carried out in Delhi in presence of the senior most leaders of the Samajwadi Party.
According to sources, SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav has agreed to the condition put by Ajit Singh.
With Ajit Singh going to Rajya Sabha there would be one name out of seven that would be changed from the Samajwadi Party camp. This inclusion might be a beneficial move for the SP keeping in mind they don’t have much stronger presence in the western UP that can be made stronger with the inclusion of Ajit Singh.
Of UP’s 11 Rajya Sabha seats, elections for which are due next month, Samajwadi Party has a quota of seven seats.
However, the names were finalised at the SP parliamentary board meeting attended by Yadav, senior party members Ram Gopal Yadav, Mohammad Azam Khan and Shivpal Yadav, special invitee Kiranmoy Nanda and UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav but if Ajit Singh has be one of the names for Rajya Sabha then any one name has to be changed.
The SP has previously announced the names of Amar Singh, Revti Raman Singh, Arvind Singh, Sanjay Seth, Sukhram Yadav, Vishambhar Prasad Nishad, and Beni Prasad Verma on Tuesday.
The RLD, in the past, has also shown its keenness to ally with the BSP but BSP president Mayawati has firmly turned down the proposal.
